Carriage House: $255/Night, plus a $60 cleaning fee per stay.
Carol Jean: $215/Night, plus a $40 cleaning fee per stay.
Calamity Jane: $165/Night, plus a $30 cleaning fee per stay.
Family Suite in the Lodge: $155/Night, plus a $30 cleaning fee per stay.
Master Suite in the Lodge: $145/Night, plus a $30 cleaning fee per stay.

Our Winter business hours are Mon – Fri, 9am – 5pm MST. During the Summer season we are also available on Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays, year round.

Special Concerns: We do not allow animals / pets on our property. No exceptions. Thank you for understanding. If a guest arrives for their reservation with an animal they will NOT be given a rental key NOR issued a refund.
Cell service can be unreliable at the ranch and through out the Black Hills. However, we have recently, (Spring 2022), upgraded our DSL internet to Starlink satellite internet.
Check in time is 4pm MST, check out time is by 11am MST. Due to our small staff we are unable to offer early check in or late check out.
We do not have guest laundry facilities. (The Carriage House cabin is the only rental with its own washer and dryer.) There are laundromats in Keystone and Hill City.
We do not have fire pits and request that you do not start any type of fire on the property, including candles.
The closest grocery stores, outside of Rapid City, are: Krull’s Family Market in Hill City and Lynn’s Dakotamart in Custer.
Cancellation Policy: If you cancel more than 30 days before your arrival date you will receive a full refund. Cancel within 30 days but more than 2 weeks before your arrival date and you will receive a 50% refund. There are no refunds for cancellations made within 2 weeks of your arrival date.
Driving and Parking Info: The Ranch is located directly off of a well maintained, paved county road. Our driveways are hard packed dirt and gravel. We have limited parking near each of the cabins and suites. We have an additional parking area at the rear of the main lodge. We have a large, well kept meadow beyond that for overflow parking of motorcycle trailers, side by sides, etc. We ask that you please do not block the driveways or the two car garage at the front of the property.

Driving Directions
(Your GPS may or may not get you here; it’s part of visiting the Black Hills.) Follow signs to Keystone, SD and Mt. Rushmore. It is easily found following Highway 16 south from Rapid City. Once in Keystone, turn east (left, if coming from Rapid City) onto Highway 40 at the only traffic signal in Keystone. Go approximately 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Playhouse Road and go approximately 4 miles. McDonald Mountain Ranch is on the right, clearly visible from the road, (look for the copper roof).
